TEAM NISEKO

「チームニセコ」は、ニセコ・羊蹄山エリアを活動拠点に15年の歴史をもつ「“ガンバ”ニセコ・羊蹄サイクリングクラブ」の競技部門として、2008年に創設されました。

ロス・フィンドレー、マット・デニング、ベン・カーといった地元サイクリストが発起人となり、「サイクルショップあぶかわ」の虻川店長、「お食事どころきむら」の木村店長ほか熱心なボランティアの支援のもとで「チームニセコ」が誕生しました。

TEAM NISEKO was created in 2008 as the racing division of “Ganba” Niseko Yotei Cycling Club which has been active in the Niseko / Mt Yotei area for fifteen years. Local cyclists Ross Findlay, Matt Dening and Ben Kerr conceived and created Team Niseko with the help of Abukawa Cycle’s Abukawa-san, Kimura-san and a keen group of volunteers.

チームの目的：

- 地域の自転車競技の普及・推進
- 北海道およびニセコを国際クラスのサイクリングフィールドとして推進
- 北海道自転車競技シリーズのさまざまなレベルで活躍できる実力あるチームの育成
- 地元の若者のスポーツ参加を奨励・支援

Aims:

- Promoting and encouraging cycle racing in the local community
- Promoting Niseko and Hokkaido area as a world class cycling destination
- Building a competitive team to compete in the Hokkaido Cycling Series at various grades
- Support and develop local young participants in the sport

創部にあたりスポンサーの支援を得て、約50名のメンバーがバイクウェアをそろえ、そのチームウェアはニセコを訪れる海外旅行客の関心を大いに集めています。今日では、北海道シリーズでの表彰台上はもとより、本州、沖縄、さらには香港、台湾、オーストラリアなど、各地のレースで「チームニセコ」のウェアに身を包んだ選手たちが見られます。

With the help of inaugural sponsors a team kit was designed and produced with over 50 local members wearing the new gear and great interest in the team wear from international guests to Niseko. Team Niseko gear now appears regularly in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia, mainland Japan, Okinawa, as well as on the podium in the Hokkaido Race Series.

惜しくも年間総合２位で終わった前年の雪辱を果たすべく、2010年総合優勝の座を目指す「チームニセコ」は、過去最多のメンバーを揃え、精鋭たちが競う北海道シリーズに乗り込みます。

2010 sees Team Niseko fielding its largest team in the elite Hokkaido Series with the goal of taking out overall victory after coming a close second in 2009.
